The emergence of St. Thomas into a one of a kind, full-fledged, multi-specialty hospital has been phenomenal. Today, the Hospital comprises The St. Thomas Hospital, St. Thomas Heart Institute, St. Thomas Institute of Research on Venous Diseases, St. Thomas College of Allied Health Science, St. Thomas College of Nursing & St. Thomas School of Medical Lab Technology. ST. THOMAS COLLEGE OF ALLIED HEALTH SCIENCES (STCAHS), a healthcare institution under the aegis of Archdiocese of Changanacherry, established in 2002 and blessed by Archbishop Mar Joseph Powathil. STCAHS is an educational project of St. Thomas Hospital Trust, fulfilling the objective of promoting medical education and research and training professionals in Healthcare. In the initial days, the college was running a Diploma Course in Medical Laboratory Technology of Christian Medical Association of India (CMAI). Later PG and UG programs of the Manipal University – MBA (Hospital Administration), B Sc Health Information Administration, B Sc Medical Imaging Technology & B Sc Medical Laboratory Technology were conducted.
Presently our college is affiliated to Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS), Thrissur for conducting the B Sc Medical Laboratory Technology (B Sc MLT) program. The first batch of students got admitted in AY 2020-21. Mr V N Vasavan, Honorable Minister for Cooperation and Registration, Government of Kerala, inaugurated the program and was blessed by Bishop Mar Thomas Tharayil, Auxiliary Bishop Archdioceses of Changanacherry.
We have initiated steps to start MHA, BPT and Radiology courses affiliated to KUHS in the coming year.
